Mastercard has one of the most iconic logos in existence. An estimated 2.2 billion cards provide the significant extending red and yellow circles, so when the organization decided to redesign it for the first time in 20 years, they needed a logo that would keep the essence of the original while at the same time assuring that it considered the modern age in which we live. Internet Solutions New Logo Has Been Released
The minimalist change came courtesy of Pentagram, a design studio headquartered in London who determined upon a simplistic visual that, according to a press announcement from Mastercard, is “modernized and optimized for a frequently digital world.” The latest overhaul was unveiled on 14 July 2016 and is set to supplement Mastercard’s new digital payment method called ‘Masterpass.’
As well as Mastercard, Pentagram has also redesigned some other famous logos including DC Comics, PBS talk show, and the London Underground.
